Hi writer friend—
It's launch day. Again. (Yes, I did this to myself. No, I am not okay. Yes, the book is great.)
Knocked Down is officially out in the world, and if you like your romance with firefighters, all the feelings, and a slow-burn gut punch of two people who absolutely should not work and absolutely do—this one is for you.
I wrote it. My husband, Eli, edited it. I stress-ate through revisions on it. Not everything went perfectly. And now it's yours.
Honestly? February felt like an appropriate month to release a book about two people who keep almost saying the thing. Very on brand.
A quick sidebar:
This list has reached over 1200 subscribers! And on Instagram, we're getting ready to hit 30,000 followers. I can't believe it's real life, honestly.
I started this account to talk about editing and accidentally built a community of writers who actually want to fix their manuscripts. That's not nothing. That's kind of everything.
Thank you for being here. For sharing the carousels that for some reason do better than Reels, for replying to these emails, for buying the workbooks and telling your writer friends. You're the reason this keeps growing and I love you all for it!
Editing Availability Update
Editing bookings are FULL through JUNE! Summer 2026 slots are open, but going fast! Go to the website for more information.
What's coming:
In fiction, Red Mercy. That's all I'm saying for now. Motorcycle club. Thriller elements. A heroine who has absolutely had enough (feminine rage, anyone?) More soon. If you want to follow along with my fiction writing journey, you can do so here:
And on the editorial side—The Blurb & Pitch Workbook drops March 1st. Whether you're querying or self-publishing, if writing your own back cover copy makes you want to delete the whole manuscript, this one's going to help. Learn how to write elevator pitches, blurbs, marketing copy, and synopses that actually grab readers's and agents' attention!
A huge thank you!
Fix The Right Thing First has been out for less than a month and has already sold over 200 copies, which means a lot of you have been sitting down to revise with an actual system instead of just vibes and panic. Good. That's exactly what I wanted!
If you're still on the fence—this is the book for the writer who gets lost in revision. The one who polishes sentences while the plot is still held together with wishes and sheer determination. The one who has rewritten chapter one fourteen times and hasn't touched chapter twelve yet.
It walks you through the exact order to revise in, how to tell story problems from line-level problems, what to fix first, and—maybe most importantly — when to stop and call it done.
It also includes a mini version of the Character Arc Workbook. If you want the full version of the Character Arc Workbook with templates and guided prompts, that's available separately for $10.
200 copies in under a month is kind of wild for an indie nonfiction release. If you've already read it and found it helpful, an Amazon review does more for discoverability than almost anything else I can ask of you.
Want signed copies of my books?
If you'd rather have a copy with my actual handwriting in it—personalized, signed, and shipped directly from me—you can grab one here:
Now go read something good.
